The U.S. Department of Justice filed an emergency request with the Supreme Court on Monday to stop tens of thousands of ballots illegally cast by noncitizens who were registered to vote in California. The Justice Department has sought to have the ballots sequestered from the vote tally while citizenship is verified.
A district judge and the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals have refused to support the federal government’s effort to ensure the unlawful votes are not included in the state’s election results.
“In this case, this Office is informed that the Executive Branch has identified over 20,000 individuals who appear to be registered to vote in California based on publicly accessible information and who, based on the Executive Branch’s review, are likely not U.S. citizens,” the Justice Department filing stated.
The president’s administration has been attempting to ensure that California enforces its own law which prohibits noncitizens from voting.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the justices of the Supreme Court as they consider the emergency appeal regarding the election.
- For Attorney General Blanche as he heads the Justice Department’s efforts to ensure states comply with federal and state laws regarding election integrity and administration.
